The Impact of Fast and Efficient Delivery

Challenge: This company’s previous freight forwarder was taking an average of 7-8 days after port arrival to deliver full container loads from the Houston Port to McAllen, TX. The actual transit time from port to the customer’s door only took 7-8 hours. Some of the major issues were due to the previous freight forwarder taking 1-2 days to clear shipments after port arrival. They also relied on a single trucking company due to a big national contract used to maximize their own profits. This meant the client had to wait for a truck to be available before their shipment could be transported. The delay was causing production line issues that effected the customer’s lead time and planning.

Solution: Mach 1 reduced delivery time by 3-4 days by performing pre-clearance ahead of the customer’s delivery and by using our vast strategic partnerships to transport the customer’s shipment as soon as possible. We were able to move containers much faster and efficiently. The result allowed us to pull the customer’s containers out of port on day 3 and deliver the shipment on day 4.

Working with Mach 1 has allowed this customer to avoid production line stoppages due to transportation delays and save hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of our service to them. Additionally, by avoiding production delays they are able to deliver products to their customers on-time allowing them to be a top-rated automotive industry supplier and grow their business steadily year after year.
